I was commissioned to do a painting last year. I decided it was time to freestyle a saguaro painting. Here is a picture of me finding my way from the seat of the smallest folding chair I've come across and used.
For the past few years I've messed around with drawing one of my favorite organisms in the desert, the saguaro cactus. I love all the different expressions of the cactus that you can see driving on the highway or hiking on the trail. Whatever speed we're traveling at, the saguaro remains constant. Below are some sketches of saguaros as I build up a body of work for a show this fall.
